Rita Maxwell has a proven record of public service at the local, state, and federal levels. As a former state and federal Law Enforcement Officer, Non-Profit Executive, educator, and United States Air Force veteran Maxwell knows first-hand how to roll up her sleeves and get work done.
Maxwell has her Masters Degree in Human Resources from East Central University. She received her Associates Degree from Rose State College. In addition to her masters, she is an International Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselor ( ILADC), and a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) who ran a successful DUI School and Counseling business in Midwest City.
Rita Maxwell’s track record of public service includes being appointed to state boards by two governors, Democrat Brad Henry and Republican Mary Fallin (the Oklahoma Human Rights Commission and the Oklahoma Board of Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors).
Maxwell is committed to the growth and improvement of all of Midwest City. She is dedicated to neighborhood safety, code enforcement and boosting small business throughout the city. She believes that this is accomplished through direct, transparent interaction with the citizens of Midwest City.
As a former professor at Langston University, and mother of four Rita Maxwell will fight for our public schools and teachers. She knows providing a quality education for our children is the best investment we can make in our communities. As a former correctional professional and criminal justice non-profit executive, she knows keeping our communities safe requires innovative complex solutions, and has the experience to back it up.
Rita Maxwell is running for Mayor of Midwest City Council io continue her long career of doing the hard work our communities deserve.
The citizens of Midwest City deserve to know the decisions being made on their behalf. These decisions need to be made in the open, not behind closed doors. Additionally, citizens from all works of life need to be included on boards and commissions.
Our city codes should be user-friendly for both citizens and business owners. I will continue to promote updating the codes and education of the public.
The whole of Midwest City deserves attention. New business growth should not be isolated to one portion of the city. Nor should other parts of the city be left to decline with little attention from City Hall.
